Kariton, a cart pulled by Carabao, is celebrated every March 28 during the annual celebration of the founding anniversary of Licab, Nueva Ecija.

It is not just an ordinary festival but it also plays a significant part of the History of Licab. Don Dalmacio Esguerra, the founder of the town, used kariton when he left San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte until he finally settled and found this town in Licab. As a tributeto this very important farm equipment, the LGU of Licab adopted “Kariton Festival” as the official festival of the town. The event features a parade of colorfully-dressed kariton floats, beauty pageant, and trade fairs boasting the agricultural products of the town.

Licab Kariton Festival was declared by the Department of Tourism and the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines as the 3rd best overall municipal festival in the country.
